Twitter Inc – Up about 1% premarket this morning following a Bloomberg report aftermarket yesterday suggesting the company recently held unsuccessful talks with audio-based social media app Clubhouse for a buyout with a potential valuation of roughly $4 billion. We learned mid-session that Twitter was now also in the “early stages” of thinking about ways to monetize their own “Spaces” audio app.

EV Stocks – According to a U.S. Transportation Department email sent to congressional staff and seen by Reuters late yesterday the Biden administration’s $174 bln proposal to boost EVs calls for $100 bln in new consumer rebates and $15 bln to build 500,000 new charging stations. Big Tech – Back on watch this morning after outperforming the overall market again Wednesday. Amazon, Apple, Microsoft and Facebook were all up between 1%-3% during the session. Investment bank Cowen released a positive note predicting Apple News+ will account for $2.2 billion in revenue and have some 19 million users by 2023. Apple News+ is the company’s subscription-based news service that provides news and magazines from popular sources. Many of the nation’s largest newspapers and news outlets are partners, and subscribers have access to a virtual newsstand of magazines. AAPL, FB, AMZN, GOOGL

GameStop Corp – Up 2% early on following the news the company has officially decided to elect recent board addition and founder Ryan Cohen as its Chairman.

Box Inc – Sharply lower in the premarket after announcing multiple board member and director changes along with a $500m investment and strategic partnership with investment firm KKR.

UTime Ltd – Trading lower in the premarket after a second straight session of extreme volatility after the stock debuted on the Nasdaq Tuesday. The Chinese maker of mobile phones and wireless devices has a $300m market cap and 8.2m shares outstanding.

DoorDash Inc – The WSJ is reporting the company along with Instacart will launch its own credit card. JPMorgan Chase & Co will issue Instacart’s card and is also bidding to partner with Doordash, which has received offers from more than 10 large banks.

AstraZeneca PLC – Higher in the premarket this morning after a volatile session Wednesday, German has announced people aged under 60 who have received one shot of AstraZeneca’s COVID-19 vaccine should receive an mRNA vaccine as their second dose. The commission, known as STIKO, said the second dose should be administered twelve weeks after the AstraZeneca shot. Two mRNA vaccines, one from Pfizer, BioNTech and one from Moderna, are currently approved for use in Germany.

Ocugen Inc – Yesterday, Mexico’s health regulator, Cofepris. Mexico has approved the use of the the Covid-19 vaccine COVAXIN. This vaccine has been developed by Bharat Biotech, the Indian partner of Ocugen.

Immutep Ltd – Trading higher after securing fast track designation from the US FDA for its eftilagimod alpha product. The biotechnology company, which develops immunotherapy treatments for cancer, infectious disease and autoimmune disease, stated the fast track designation can expedite development and review with the US FDA.
