Uber Technologies – Down 4% but well off post-earnings lows from late yesterday, the company reported widening losses as it spent more to entice drivers to return to its platform. Uber posted an adjusted $509 million second-quarter loss before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation – a metric that excludes one-time costs, including stock-based compensation – widening losses by nearly $150 million from the first quarter. Gross bookings during the second quarter reached an all-time high of nearly $22 billion however, Uber also reaffirmed its goal of hitting profitability on an adjusted EBITDA basis at the end of this year and said it would reduce losses to $100 million by Q3.

Moderna Inc – Reported quarterly adjusted earnings of $6.46​​ per share for the quarter ending in June. The mean expectation was for earnings of $5.96 per share. Revenue rose 6,462.1% to $4.35 billion from a year ago; analysts expected $4.21 billion. Moderna reported EPS for the quarter was $6.46​. The company reported quarterly net income of $2.78 billion. The company said its COVID-19 shot remains 93% effective 4-6 months after second dose, it believes a 3 dose “booster” shot will be necessary before winter.

Etsy Inc -Reported quarterly adjusted earnings of 68 cents​​ per share in its latest quarter beating expectations of sixteen analysts for the quarter for 63 cents per share. Revenue rose 23.4% to $528.90 million from a year ago; analysts expected $524.68 million. The company reported quarterly net income of $98.25 million. The company’s revenue guidance for the remainder of the year was below estimates.

Microvision Inc – The Lidar sensor maker posted Q2 revenue that rose 56% QoQ, the Co said that its technology can be found in Microsoft Corp’s smartglasses HoloLens2. “All of the second quarter’s revenue was royalty revenue and attributable to Microsoft Corporation” MVIS’s loss per share widened to $0.09 from loss of $0.02/shr a year ago, as of Wednesday’s close, the stock has more than doubled YTD.

Robinhood Markets Inc – Lower after filing to sell 97.9m additional shares, the stock rallied 50% on Wednesday during a wild trading session – as investors scooped up shares after its underwhelming stock market debut last week. The online brokerage’s shares closed at $70.39, off the session high of $85 when the stock was up nearly 82%, with analysts dubbing it “the meme of memes” in a reference to stocks popularized this year by retail investors congregating in online platforms such as Reddit’s WallStreetBets. At yesterday’s highs its market capitalization rose to $58.8 billion, catapulting it ahead of Twitter, restaurant chain Chipotle Mexican Grill and asset manager T. Rowe Price.

Fastly Inc – Sharply lower premarket after reported a quarterly adjusted loss of 15 cents​​ per share, slightly better than an expected loss of 17 cents per share. Revenue rose 13.9% to $85.03 million from a year ago; analysts expected $85.73 million. EPS for the quarter was a loss of 51 cents​. The company lowered its Q3 and FY guidance.

Fivrr International – Shares of online marketplace for freelancers are down more than 20% premarket after its outlook misses expectations. The Israel-based co now sees Q3 rev of $68-$72 mln and FY 2021 rev of $280-$288 mln: Street estimates called for $80.2 mln / $307.9 mln, per Refinitiv IBES data. The Co says guidance reflects “post-COVID effect” seen in recent weeks as lockdown restrictions ease. The company posted Q2 rev of $75.3 mln, up 60% yr/yr, and adj EPS of 19 cents also topping analysts’ estimates.

Datadog Inc – Higher premarket after a positive second-quarter earnings report, strong third-quarter guidance and raised full-year outlook. DDOG said revenue for its latest quarter was up 67% year-over-year to $233.5M, topping analyst estimates by $21M. Adjusted earnings of $0.09 per share beat consensus by six cents. Customers with annual recurring revenue over $100,000 grew to 1,610 from 1,015 in last year’s quarter. For the third quarter, Datadog forecasts revenue of $246M to $248M, above the $226.4M consensus, and adjusted EPS of $0.05-0.06 versus the $0.03 estimate. The full-year forecast includes sales of $938-944M, up from the prior $880-890M guidance and above the $889.2M consensus. The EPS estimate raises from $0.13-0.16 to $0.26-0.28, above the $0.16 consensus.
