Vaccine Stocks – The biggest gainers Friday in a very weak market are looking to extend gains this morning, Moderna’s CEO saying in a CNBC interview this morning data on vaccine efficacy against the Omnicron variant could be know within 2-6 weeks. The stock jumped more than 20% in Friday’s session. BioNTech has also said it has started work on a Omicron-specific vaccine -PFE, BNTX, NVAX and INO were also all sharply higher. MRNA
Travel Stocks – The group is looking to rebound after Friday’s selloff with the Dow and S&P 500 suffering their biggest one-day percentage drops in months, and pandemic-hit sectors that have benefited from a reopening falling sharply after a new and potentially vaccine-resistant coronavirus mutation was found. Cruise operators Carnival Corp, Royal Caribbean Cruises and Norwegian Cruise Line each plunged more than 10%, while shares in United Airlines, Delta Air Lines and American Airlines also tumbled. Advanced Micro Devices – Solidly higher in early trading after EV focused website Electrek reported on Friday that Tesla Inc has started using a new AMD chip in its Model Y vehicles in China. This comes after TSLA’s move for AMD chips for its new Model S.
Oil Stocks – Big bounce this morning after Friday’s selloff, crude oil up 5% after falling 12% in Friday’s Omicron session. XOM, CVX, OXY, MRO, SLB, HAL are all trading higher in relation to oil.
At Home Stocks – The beaten down group bounced back to life Friday showing brief relative strength, most are set to open little changed to slightly higher this morning. ROKU, NFLX, TDOC, PTON, ZM
Coinbase Global – Higher with the BTC prices in the premarket looking to rebound from Friday’s steep decline.
Li Auto – U.S.-listed shares of the Chinese EV maker are higher after the company said it expects Q4 revenue between 8.82 bln yuan ($1.38 bln) and 9.41 bln yuan vs. analysts’ avg. estimate of 8.67 bln yuan. Li also said it expects Q4 vehicle deliveries to rise to between 30,000 and 32,000 vehicles. In Q3, the company reported revenue of 7.78 bln yuan vs. estimate of 7.43 bln yuan – Refinitiv data with Q3 deliveries almost triple to 25,116 vehicles.
Petros Pharmaceuticals – Among the most mentioned stocks on social media site early Monday, last week the company announced three proposals that are lined up for voting at the upcoming annual meeting of stockholders scheduled for Dec. 22. 6.6m share free float $27m market cap.
NRX Pharmaceuticals – Released more data on its Zyesami drug candidate for treating COVID-19 patients facing respiratory problems, indicates substantial improvement over existing therapies such as Gilead Sciences Inc’s remdesivir. Zyesami showed effectiveness in increasing odds of recovery and survival from respiratory failure among sickest COVID patients overall and particularly in those whose respiratory failure has progressed despite treatment with remdesivir – NRXP. Analysis was conducted in response to U.S. FDA’s request for additional data on Zyesami’s efficacy as compared to currently approved therapies including remdesivir.
Applied DNA Sciences – The DNA-based technology company’s shares are higher after saying its Linea kit, a real-time RT-PCR test authorized for emergency use, has a unique gene target failure specific to the new Omicron variant and can thus be used to detect it.
Krystal Biotech – Says study on its VYJUVEKTM drug to treat a rare skin disease met primary endpoint.
