Tesla Inc – Giving back some early gains premarket as Elon has filed to sell another $1B in the company’s shares, Tuesday an SEC filing showed another 934,090 shares sold by Musk, or about $1.02 billion worth of his holdings. Since Nov. 8, Musk has been on a selling spree. The Tesla CEO has said he is partly selling shares to pay a massive tax bill that he anticipates will amount to at least $11 billion. A stock option was also exercised, that will see Musk buy nearly 1.6 million Tesla shares at a strike price of $6.24 per share, granted to him via a 2012 compensation package.

Chipmakers – Remain the on watch after slight declines Tuesday, the group has been among the strongest in this latest market rally. Motley Fool out with a “Buy” on Micron Technologies pointing to positivities coming from its latest quarter and further potential in 2022. MU, AMD, NVDA, AMAT

Fuelcell Energy – The small cap clean energy name reported disappointing Q4 results with EPS coming in at a loss of -$0.07 vs a loss of -$0.02 expected. Revenue meanwhile also missed at $13.9M vs $20.3M expected.

Ford Motor Co – Trading little changed, the company’s market cap closed above that of rival GM’s yesterday for the first time in 5 years. Both however are still a fraction of EV maker Tesla, which has a market cap of over $1.09 trillion.

Apple Inc – Holding yesterday’s support in premarket trading, a government source in India has said supplier Foxconn’s Southern India plant reopening could be delayed until Jan 3 due to a covid outbreak and ongoing protests over working conditions for its employees.

Rivian Automotive Inc – Lower after saying it will delay deliveries of its electric pickup truck and sports utility vehicle with big battery packs to 2023, Chief Executive RJ Scaringe said the majority of Rivian’s roughly 71,000 preorders for its R1T pickup truck and R1S SUV in the United States and Canada were for a version of the vehicles with a small battery pack option, which provides 314 miles of range on one charge.
