Ford Motor Co – Up 3% premarket after the company announced plans yesterday to invest $11.4 billion in electric vehicle production, building four new plants that will create 11,000 new jobs by 2025. Together with its South Korean partner SK Innovation, Ford will build the factories in Kentucky and Tennessee, the automaker said in a statement. Ford will invest $7 billion, part of a $30 billion investment already announced last spring, and SK Innovation will put up the remainder.

Advanced Micro Devices – Coming off Monday’s impressive rally, CEO Lisa Su said the company believes the global chip shortage will become less severe by H2 2022. Su said “Manufacturing plants that were planned last year will likely start producing chips in the coming months, helping to alleviate shortages for PC parts and other microchips.”

Tesla Inc – Back on watch after yesterday’s rally, failed to test the psychological level of $800. The move followed an internal email from CEO Elon Musk suggesting this week would be the most “intense” delivery week ever for the company. Musk also said its FSD beta 10.2 version would be released next Friday. Piper Sandler upgrade.

Aurora Cannabis – Pointing to COVID-19 lockdowns reported a 45 per cent plunge in consumer sales that it experienced as it continued to restructure its operations in its fourth quarter. The Edmonton-based cannabis company said the health crisis pushed its net revenue from consumer sales to $19.5 million for the three months ended June 30, down from $35.3 million in the fourth quarter of 2020. Aurora reported a net loss of $135.1 million, compared with a net loss of $1.86 billion a year earlier.

Vaccine Stocks – Multiple news stories, France’s Sanofi has said it will drop plans for its own mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccine because of the dominance achieved by BioNTech-Pfizer and Moderna in using the technology to fight the pandemic. Meanwhile, Pfizer-BioNTech have also said data will be submitted “within days not weeks” to the FDA for EUA for its vaccine in kids between 5-11 year old. PFE, BNTX, JNJ, MRNA
