Pfizer – Shares are up slightly premarket after yesterday’s news that the FDA has given Emergency Use Authorization to their Covid treatment pill. This treatment could be available to US patients as early as this week and has helped support a rally in the markets. Positive headlines for this treatment and for Merck’s own pill have helped put pressure on some vaccine names, namely Moderna. MRNA

JD.COM – The E-Commerce giant saw its shares drop 7% during the Hong Kong session after Tencent announced they are giving away most of their shares to shareholders. Via a one time dividend, 457 million class A shares ($16.4 billion worth). This move could be seen as Tencent looking to reduce its size and influence as large tech has been under pressure in China.

Carnival Corp – After being a leading gainer 2 days in a row shares of Carnival are up again premarket as travel stocks rally on new reports that the Omicron variant may not be as servere as expected in addition to Pfizers covid treatment pill gaining EUA from the FDA and AstraZeneca stating a 3 dose course of their vaccine is effective against omicron. Shares of LUV, DAL, NCLH and RCL are all up over 1% in early premarket trade.

This comes on the heels of an deal for an order for up to 100 trucks inked yesterday.

Last week the clinical stage biotech company annoucned that the first patients had been enrollled in the Phase 1 study for their MPAR platform designed to reduce opioid overdose. This name trades with just an 8 million share float and halted several times late yesterday.
