Foot Locker inc – Reported second quarter results that topped estimates this morning as Q2 non-gaap earnings per share came in at $2.21vs estimates of $1.01/share. The company said same-store-sales rose 6.9% in the quarter also better than expected. Q2 sales $2.275 billion versus refinitiv ibes estimate of $2.09 billion and gave a cautiously optimistic outlook for back-half of 2021.

Chinese Stocks – The group is under pressure in premarket trading again after Chinese officials said considering pressing data-rich companies to hand over management and supervision of their data to third-party firms if they want U.S. stock listings, sources said, as part of Beijing’s unprecedented scrutiny on private sector firms. China’s National People’s Congress on Friday officially passed a law designed to protect online user data privacy and will implement the policy starting November 1, according to state-media. Tesla Inc – At the company’s second “AI Day” yesterday CEO Elon Musk said the company will probably launch a “Tesla Bot” humanoid robot prototype next year, designed for dangerous, repetitive, or boring work that humans don’t like to do, Musk said the robot, which stands around five foot eight inches tall, would be able to handle jobs from attaching bolts to cars with a wrench, or picking up groceries at stores. Also announced new autonomous hardware and software for the “Cybertruck” to be launched in about a year or so.

Coinbase Global – CEO Brian Armstrong announced on Thursday that the cryptocurrency exchange will add $500 million of crypto to its balance sheet, and allocate 10% of its future quarterly profits to growing its holdings. “We recently received board approval to purchase over $500M of crypto on our balance sheet to add to our existing holdings,” he said in a tweet .

Retail Stocks – On watch after impressive moves yesterday following a batch of better than expected Q2 reports from the group, Macy’s shares added nearly 20% on the session after easily topping estimates with its results. Kohl’s gained 7% on the back of better than expected results and also raised its FY forecast. Both followed a positive move the prior session from LOW and HD who reported earlier in the week. Spotify Technology – Swedish music streaming platform is higher premarket after the company announced plans to start a stock repurchase program of up to $1 bln. The program will begin in the third quarter of 2021 and authorization to repurchase will expire on April 21, 2026.
