Boeing Co – Multiple positive news stories this morning including Emirates saying they have signed a purchase agreement with boeing for two new Boeing 777-F Aircraft. Reports also suggest Saudi Arabian Airlines is in talks with Airbus and Boeing for a wide-body jet order. Boeing has also partnered with Etihad Airways to expand a sustainability alliance that will drive innovation in the aviation industry.
Tesla Inc – Back on watch trading lower this morning after a volatile week last week as CEO Elon Musk sold shares of the company to cover taxes. Over the weekend Musk, on Twitter offered to sell more Tesla Stock in sparring session with Bernie Sanders over taxes.
Gores Guggenheim – The Polestar SPAC continues to gather social media attention after last week’s rally, GGPI, which entered a deal to take Swedish electric-car maker Polestar public in a $20 bln deal in Sept., jumped 16% to an all-time closing high on Friday. EV stocks across the board got a boost last week after Rivian Automotive Inc’s blockbuster market debut. With about $27 bln shares in short position, GGPI was the 4th most shorted U.S. SPAC, a report from analytics firm S3 Partners showed earlier this month.
Rivian Automotive – The EV maker, backed by Amazon and Ford Motor made a successful debut on the Nasdaq last week and will look to extend gains from Thursday and Friday this week. The post-IPO rally briefly made Rivian the second most valuable U.S. automaker after Tesla Inc which is worth $1.06 trillion. Despite just having started selling vehicles and having little revenue to report.
Dollar Tree Inc – Up nearly 7% on light volume premarket after activist investor Mantle Ridge reportedly has taken a stake worth at least $1.8 billion in the discount store chain and will push it to do more to add to shareholder value.
EV Charging – Multiple upgrades on this group this morning including, H.C. Wainwright upgrading EV charging equipment provider Blink Charging to ‘buy’ from ‘neutral’, citing “significantly” better macro environment driven mainly by U.S. infrastructure bill. Separately, Evercore initiates coverage on ChargePoint with ‘outperform’ on positive growth prospects. BLNK, CHPT, EVGO
Cannabis Stocks – Active again premarket on continued chatter of possible Republican led legalization legislation, the goal being to establish a tax on its sales that may help the development and introduction into the House of Representatives. TLRY, CRON, CGC.
Oatly Group – Lower after reporting revenue guidance well below expectations. The company’s EPS beats by $0.03, missed on revenue.
EyePoint Pharmaceuticals – EYPT reported positive interim safety and efficacy data from an early-stage study of a new drug to treat of wet macular degeneration, a chronic eye disease that potentially could lead to blindness
Bit Brother Ltd – China based, food processing micro cap, sharply higher on social media chatter for the second straight session. 39m share free-float.
